Ullvén Mutes Trombone Copper Cup Mute
Ullvén Mutes - Trombone Copper Cup Mute
Introducing the original Ullvén Copper CUP Mute with an adjustable cup - the perfect solution for all your trombone cup mute needs. From a tight cup soft warm sound to an open bright crispy sound rich in overtones, this mute has got you covered. It can even be used as a plunger, and without the cup, the torpedo/straight part becomes a nice "straight" mute.
This mute is versatile and ideal for covering 90% of the requirements for brass players, with the added benefit of providing soloists with a greater space sound.
The Chrome Plating on this mute offers a brighter sound and great projection. It also stays shiny and is easy to polish with metal polish cream. On the other hand, the pure Copper CUP provides a warm, beautiful sound that is a little darker than the Chrome Plated option. It is not lacquered, and like all copper, it will develop a beautiful patina over time. If desired, it is possible to polish the mute and keep it shiny.
Additionally, by placing a sock or other cloth material in the cup and using it tightly, this mute can serve as a great practice mute. Please note that due to the copper material, this mute is slightly heavier than aluminum mutes.
Overall, the Ullvén Copper CUP Mute is a reliable and high-quality choice for any brass player looking to enhance their sound and performance.
"I love the tenor cup you made! I play it all the time. It has this beautiful vintage quality to it, where you can get the cup mute timbre & sound like JJ Johnson or Frank Rosolino."

About Ullvén Mutes
For over half a century, Ullvén & Co has been recognized as one of the top brands for mutes. Their mutes are renowned for their exceptional quality and have been appreciated and used by leading professional brass musicians. The company has an impressive history of working with famous trumpet players, including Dizzy Gillespie and Maynard Ferguson, who even contributed to the development of new Ullvén mutes.
Sadly, production of these extraordinary mutes ceased at the turn of the millennium, but now, almost 20 years later, trumpeter Lasse Lindgren has proudly resurrected the brand. Each Ullvén mute is handcrafted using the same specifications, tooling, and materials as the originals. This means that you can expect the same high level of quality and sound that made Ullvén & Co one of the most revered names in the business.
