Pre-Owned 1953 New York Bach Mercedes Bb trumpet
1953 New York Bach Mercedes Trumpet
Built in early 1953 at the Bronx Bach factory, this trumpet is a great playing example from one of Bach's best eras. The Mercedes model at this time was based on the medium bore Stradivarius trumpet, with a .453 bore and a 38 bell. The Mercedes trumpet was Bach's basic pro-level horn that did not have some of the more expensive features of the Stradivarius model. The differences between this horn and a Stradivarius are: all brass construction (except for bronze valve ballusters) and absence of a stop rod on the third valve slide. Freddie Hubbard played this model early in his career. The horn is offered in raw brass and with a copy of the shop card. Includes original case.
